Close Class II doubling shows on E PLURIBUS UNUM, increasing from left to right.  Doubling also shows on AMERICA.

Markers: 

  • Obv:  Slanted die scratch below RT of LIBERTY; die dot below N of IN.
  • Rev:  Die scratch above small right window; two slanted die scratches above second S of STATES.

Strong Class VIII doubling shows as a portion of the step to the right of the steps.

Markers: 

  • Obv:  Weak die scratches to left of Jefferson's forehead.
  • Rev:  Die clash through second O of MONTICELLO.
