Description: Class II, Distorted Hub Doubling
A strong spread toward the center shows on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, FIVE CENTS, MONTICELLO and the center steps. The spreads decrease slightly from left to right. A lesser spread shows on E PLURIBUS UNUM, also decreasing from left to right.
Markers:
- Obv: Two die gouges NE from lower back of collar toward queue and another on queue just right of first two.
- Rev: Two diagonal scratches between bottom of F of OF and first A of AMERICA; light horizontal die scratch between bottom of second S of STATES and O of OF.
