Description: Class II, Distorted Hub Doubling
A very nice spread toward the center shows on E PLURIBUS UNUM, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and FIVE CENTS, strongest on UNUM and AMERICA.  All spreads increase from left to right.

Markers: 

  • Obv:  Slanted die gouge from left side of G of GOD; three vertical die scratches above head at about 11 o’clock.
  • Rev:  Diagonal die gouge inside lower portion of D of UNITED; series of die gouges on lower left side of A of STATES.
