Description: Class II, Distorted Hub Doubling
A nice spread toward the center shows on E PLURIBUS UNUM, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and FIVE CENTS.  All spreads increase from left to right.  

Markers: 

  • Obv:  Almost vertical die gouge near rim to near top of head at 12 o’clock; short diagonal die gouge left of upper portion of L of LIBERTY.
  • Rev:  Short, almost horizontal die gouge east from right corner of second roof line into field.
