Description: Class II, Distorted Hub Doubling
A spread toward the center shows on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, FIVE CENTS, and CELLO of MONTICELLO, increasing from left to right. The doubling on UNITED STATES and FIVE also shows a close CW spread from a pivot at about K-1. A nice spread toward the center also shows on the right side of the building. An extremely close spread can be detected on most letters of E PLURIBUS UNUM at 3ox.

- Obv: The obverse is a doubled die listed as 1971-S Pr 5c WDDO-017.
- Rev: Die gouge (dot) between upper portions of E and D of UNITED; die gouge (dot) inside D of UNITED; die gouge (dot) just above E of AMERICA and another further above R of AMERICA; strong die dot on edge of rim between E and R of AMERICA.
